It has been few times asked what should be done to make site visit successful when visiting the Sedona SDC/EASYIO controller sites.

1. Make sure that you have downloaded the lastest version of the CPT Tool
2. Make sure that the CPT Tool has the kits (application object libraries) that are used on the site controller
3. Make sure that you know the IP address of the controller
4. Have a back-up of the site application
5. Make sure that you have MicroSD adapter for your laptop

Item 1
You can download the latest version of the CPT tool under SyxthSense Support Download Forum

Item 2
This is trickier. When you are connecting to the controller using CPT Tool, the CPT tool must have the matching kits that have been loaded to the controller. Otherwise connection cannot be made and the connection error message is displayed. More about the error message in the post
http://www.syxthsense.com/support/forum/error-connecting-to-sedona-controller-when-us ing-new-cpt-tool-11-121.html

It is often that older version of the CPT Tool has been used to program the controller AND that some kits (e.g. 'web') has been loaded to the controller which are not actually used. The newer versions of CPT do not come with all old kits that are obsolete/not necessary. If error message happens then you should copy the older kits from the older version of the CPT tool to the new CPT tool (see above post). After the successful connection the unused kits should be removed from the controller using kit management (they slow down the controller and potentially cause errors).

Also as Sedona is a programmable open device, anybody can write kits (appplication object libraries). If the distribution version of the CPT Tool does not have these kits then you will need to obtain the copy of the *.kit file from the original installer.

Item 3
If you do not know the IP address of the controller, then you cannot connect the controller. If you do not know the address then you could try IP Address Scanner software to scan the network to find out the controller IP address / devices that are connected to the network.

Item 4
It is good to have the back-up although not absolutely necessary once you manage to get connection. After connecting the CPT tool automatically displays the controller application wire logic. And you can download the graphics files to the CPT tool using the download button.

Item 5
MicroSD card adapter is useful in case you need to update the controller firmware. This is done by copying the new files to the fg320 folder on the root of the SD card. To copy the files you will need microSD card adapter. (you could actually use ftpbrowser to upload the files to the microSD card but this is more complicated).
